We had an enjoyable Fourth of July! We watched the local fireworks and then the next day we had a bbq with our new friends from our church! Two More Weeks

I am two weeks away from giving birth to our second son and wow has this time been easier! He is much smaller, it is much cooler, and he moves much more! We are all looking forward to this next little guy! IJ is ready to get me the diapers, read books to the baby and help with the feedings! I cannot believe I celebrated my second mother's day with my little IJ. He is such a true joy and full of enthusiasm and care for others! I am grateful to have such a gift in my life! My husband and him planned such a nice meal at a beautiful restaurant for me! I truly enjoyed every minute of my day!

The Farm

IJ and Mama went to the farm the other day and had a blast! I think IJ had more fun than mama. He so enjoyed seeing all the animals in the big red barn. Plus he was so excited to ride the tractor ride. Eventhough it was pouring rain, we still had a ton of fun! See we have been reading this book The Big Red Barn which mentions all kinds of things about farms and IJ has been really into those things mentioned in the book. Things like tractors, horses, sheep, pigs, scarecrows and all kinds of other things. Plus he actually gets to see some of those things in Ohio.

Happy Halloween!

IJ decided to be Thomas the Tank Engine this Halloween. This is our trial run and it did not go so well. Well we took him to a trick-or-treat in the local park on Oct. 21st and he wore his costume for about 15 minutes and was ready to take it off. Plus he did not enjoy walking around to get candy in the park. So when Trick-or-Treat in our neighborhood actually came on Oct. 26th here we decided he would probably enjoy passing out the candy more than walking around the neighborhood. And he did enjoy it immensley. I asked him if he wanted to wear his costume he said "NO!" We had fun passing out candy together as a family! I do have to say he looks adorable in his costume!

IJ has turned two! He really enjoyed his party! You would ask him, "How old are you?", he would answer "Two! Then he would say, "Choo-Choos", because we had a Thomas the Train birthday of course. We had train games and even a train ice cream cake! He enjoyed hearing everyone singing to him and blowing out his candles. Thank you for everyone that came and had a good time, plus the ones far away who sent thoughtful gifts and called to sing to him. He absolute was tickled by that! We had a house full and felt loved by all who came! We cannot believe he getting so big and talking so much! He truly brings us such joy!

IJ's First Pumpkin Festival

IJ truly enjoyed his first pumpkin festival, in the beginning of the fun day he spotted the rides and said to Dad enthusiastically "Ride ride!" So from there he rode almost every kid ride in the park and even the adult ferris wheel with dad! Yes the ferris wheel! He is one brave cookie! He had so much fun he did not want to leave. We enjoyed the 14ft Pumpkin Pie and yummy food. Also there was a fun parade that also IJ enjoyed. He now wants to read about parades and play parade. He plans on playing the drums and being the drum major when he grows up. We had so much fun! Plus Papa, Nana and Auntie F came along the fun! It was so so so cold! But we had a ton of fun!

Football! Basketball!

Papa, Nana, and Francis came up to celebrate IJ's second birthday! And Papa and Nana wanted to play IJ's two favorite games at the moment, basketball and football. He loves playing both a ton! So much we got him a basketball hoop his height for inside for his birthday and that is pretty much all he wants to play! He is such an ethusiast!

Fall Is Here!

In our little town of Ohio is was in the 30's with windchill in the 20's. IJ struggled with me every step of the way to get that hat and those gloves on to get him outside. He was inside where is was warm and did not understand why he had to put all this stuff on. Oh did he have a culture shock! This is just the first time, just wait until the snow suit. He did have fun kicking the leaves and being outside the watch mama play basketball, but that is about it. Oh the sense of adventure!

Oh WOW! Big Truck!

Those were IJ's exact words all day the truck came to unload our stuff at our new house. The driver was so great and let IJ sit in the truck at the driver's side. He was so thrilled to do this and enjoyed every minute of it! He also had fits that day because we told him he could not stand in the truck the whole day, he did not even want to stop and eat lunch. He absolutely loved it! IJ is still talking about this day still on how the big truck brought the boxes.

Nanni and IJ

When we got to Ohio we had no furniture for a week. We had all our big appliances but no furniture, we were camping in our home! We did have fun doing that! IJ did not know what to do with himself. He was grateful Nanni and Papa were there to play with him (including paint for us). Nanni and IJ had a ton of fun on the floor playing cards and having picnics.

Hey everyone, we have moved to Ohio. We are all unpacked except for one box! Marshall's mother and the stepfather came up from South Carolina to help unpack and paint! They were so helpful and made everything go quick. We are still looking for a church. We have made some great friends, we are so lucky! We love our new house and pinch ourselves every once in awhile to see if it is real! God is so good to us! We are truly blessed! We miss our old friends and church terribly, but know God has a plan! We have finally sold our house and our moving soon to the state of Ohio! We are excited about the new adventure God has us on, but we will dearly miss all our friends and family in Arizona and California. I know we will see them all again as we will be visiting, but it is sad to know we are on the othe side on the continent. We have felt loved by you all and we have enjoyed doing life with you all and hope and pray to continue to do it with you while in Ohio. We are always a phone call away or an email away. IJ's New Obssession

This is IJ's new love and joy in life these days, he loves and I mean loves trains. Well he calls them choo-choo's and there is bridges and choo-choo tracks and choo-choo trucks, it is all about the choo-choo. IJ is in love. He also thoroughly enjoys watching "Momas", translation Thomas the Tank Engine, it is our daily rountine in the morning. Our new purchase was a train table for a good price and he plays with that most of the day and is most of his conversation everyday. We have truly made a wise purchase and I know it will be enjoyed by him and all who comes and plays. He is thrilled to have it!

21 Months and Getting Bigger!

IJ is now twenty-one months and his favorite things at the moment are choo choos, trash trucks and any truck in general. If you mention any of those three you could get him talking for about three minutes about that favorite thing. Only repeating the words he knows about that item. It is fun to see his enthusiasm. He still enjoys reading books, he has his favorites and we are reading them more than once a day over and over again. He is involved in swimming this summer and amazing us of how well he is doing. He is so brave. We are also doing a pre-preschool class like thing once a week and he is having fun with his friends and the fun toys. He is also in a big boy bed and enjoying the independence. We love him and thank you all for your support and love that you have given him, it means the world to him and us. IJ is still the joy in our lives! He can bring us to laughter with his giggles and enthusiasm.

Aunt G came out with my mom to visit with other family in CA. I went as well, but as a treat she followed us home and decided to spend some time with us! We so enjoyed having her with us. Yep, you guessed it we were in Ohio, God has led us another adventure! We are planning on moving to Ohio. Marshall's work has led us out there. And we bought a home there and are moving soon. Everything now is "Big Truck", it is all about every kind of truck. Here IJ got to see a fire truck up close and personel. He so enjoyed touching the big tires that were bigger than him. He loved sitting on the ledge of the truck and checking out all the hoses. Plus every Thursday we must go outside in the back and see the trash truck the "Big Trash Truck" and we go on trash truck hunts every car ride. He thoroughly enjoys trucks and trains. He is so cute!

Nana and Papa Visit

Papa and Nana came for a visit to see us. We enjoyed having them here with us. IJ had play time with them 24/7 and only stopped to sleep and maybe eat a little. He giggled and laughed up a storm. We so enjoyed having them with us. We miss them already.

Choo Choo Train

Here is IJ and Dada in front of a choo choo train. IJ absolutely loved the whole experience! We took a train ride on an old train, and IJ loved it. He ran up and down the train wanting to see it all again and again not sitting down for one second. Eventhough the train went 25 miles per mile, it did not matter to this train lover. He jabbered and made choo choo sounds the whole time. He thoroughly enjoyed every minute!

First Haircut

This is the big event in action. Nana running around safely and quickly with here scissors trying to cut his hair, while Papa is trying to keep him entertained at the moment and to try to keep him from crying. After awhile Papa is old news, but to save the day is our friend M next door. She poked her head over the fence and was talking to IJ and that kept him calm and still. That made the haircut successful. I am just now praying for the next haircut and scared at what Isaiah will do. Please pray for me. JK I know he will do fine, just nervous.

Elmo, elmo and more Elmo!

Spring Gardening With Dada!

We planted some flowers for spring because all our flowers did not live from over watering and neglection! Having a toddler can be challenging! But we are trying again this year! IJ so enjoyed planting the flowers with us! IJ loved getting his hands in the dirt, pointing and squealing at all the flowers and trying lift the pots to help us! Easter 2006!

Easter was so fun! We went to church in the morning and then came home and had an Easter Egg Hunt with some friend in the neighborhood! IJ had a fun time finding the eggs in the grass! We then had a yummy steak dinner with some of those same neighbors and friends! Also IJ got some fun goodies from family! Grandma sent everything Elmo, which tickled IJ to death! Plus all the yummy candy from Grandpa Jim and Grandma Jan and of course an Elmo bath toy. Plus Aunt G brought some cute clothes and an Elmo bath toy as well! IJ was tickled to receive so many nice thoughtful gifts! We could of not for a better Easter! We as a family had a great time! We especially loved having Aunt G out for a visit.

Eighteen Months! Wow!

IJ is 18 months on April 24th. He is saying so many things and talking up a storm. Some and I mean only a few of his new words are baseball, "What's this?", wow and sauce (applesauce). He is stacking legos and blocks. One his focuses lately is dropping the ball and kicking it in mid bounce! That is his absolute favorite thing to do and finds time to concentrate on it a ton! We have family coming to visit again and cannot wait to see them! I cannot believe he is getting bigger!

This is our next door neighbor Miss MM, she adores IJ and plays so well with him. Here they are playing in the sandbox and having a great time. She is patient with him most of the time, it is hard because they are so far apart in age. But they are a great pair and have a good time. She is so good with him and I am grateful for that. She is also a great help with IJ and baking goodies. She is a sweet girl. We appreciate her! IJ goes to her door everytime when we are outside to see if she is home and always wants to be outside when she is outside. We do enjoy having her as our neighbor.

Reflections and maybe a little bragging

I love being IJ's mommy! He is teaching me new lessons everyday! My new lesson is exploring every little thing, taking the time to see every little detail outside. To the blade of grass, to dandeloins, to each pinecone he points out and goes to look at. IJ takes so much time to look everything over. This may be his stage of childhood he is in, but God is definitely using it to teach me. IJ is also such a joy to be around everyday. He brings much joy to everyone he encounters. God uses IJ to brighten people's day. I love that he does that naturally and God breathes it through him. I am grateful to this little bundle of joy!

Elmo Arrived

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Jan sent IJ a special delivery!A four foot Elmo! IJ was so delited to recieve him in the mail and have a new found friend. You can see IJ giving Elmos kisses! Like every young toddler, IJ absolutely adores Elmo. IJ has given him a special name "La La". Elmo must eat every meal with us and come almost everywhere. We also must say good-bye to Elmo every time we leave or take a nap or go sleepies. He loves his new friend! He is truly enjoying this thoughtful gift! Thank you guys!

We are so happy to have met him!

IJ caught on to the opening of gifts and ripping the paper off the gifts this year. At first it was so cute, he was sad the pretty paper he had been looking at for weeks was being ruined by us ripping it, but then he learned! There was toys and gifts underneath and then he went tearing away for quiet awhile. It was fun to see the lightbulb go off in his head. He had a great time at Christmas.

Ian and Elizabeth our dear friends came down from Los Angeles to join in our New Year fun! We went and saw the Zoo Christmas lights, they were not what we thought they would be. We were disappointed, but did have fun with our company. We ate so much food to make our belt buckles bust! We played many a game Kuduuk, Monopoly which Elizabeth wiped us all out, Yahtzee which Ian wiped us all out, and Scrabble which Ian wiped us all out again. We let our guests always win........( Just kidding, everything was a fair win). We had did have lots of laughs, talking, and lounging around and watching the Law and Order Marathon and many a movie. We had a great time and so glad they were able to come and join us in the fun. I hope we did not send them home too stuffed. Thanks for coming guys!

My Friend Aki

Isaiah has a new friend out of many in the neighboorhood. Aki is the newest and Isaiah and him have fun sharing books, motorcycles and cars. Aki is much older than Isaiah, but they sure have many hobbies and likes in common! This Christmas and New Year we were lucky to have him and his family over for dinner! We find Isaiah is this uncomprimising position many times in the morning. All wrapped up in his bumper and no way to get out! He is so cute!

New Words!

Can't you tell I love my son! Sometimes I feel I am little obssessed, but I know others are reading and love to know these little things. Isaiah's new words are "dis" translation "this", "dat" translation "that", "ish" translations "fish" and "smas" translation "Christmas". He loves the "s" sound at the end of words. It is a thing he has carried over from learning the word goose. His new loved for the word fish came from a early Christmas present from Grandma Russell and Papa George, it is a lamp that lights up and fish move across the lighted screen. He finds much joy in this new lamp and squeals and points and says "ish" over and over again. He absolutely loves it! He is also loving talking santa, all the snowman in the house and he loves the song "Jingle Bells", especially if mommy and daddy sing it together. As Christmas is approaching I so excited to share all these things with little Isaiah, especially the birth of Jesus. I know he is young yet, but it brings me such joy for the years to come with him. He is able to respond more and more to us everyday, like helping mommy and daddy put on their shows by handing them to us. Isaiah goes to the stairs when mention of a nap or diaper change, plus go to the cupboard if mention of a yummy snack or cracker. Isaiah is a true joy always, even when he is cranky. We love him dearly and thank the Lord daily for his childlikeness.
Good news the shower is tiled and grouted! Yippee! My husband did an awesome job and it is beautiful, I will have to post some photos! Showers in our own home are in our future! Thank to all who read.

Christmas Is Coming......

It is so fun to see Isaiah's eyes light up when he sees our tree lite up and all the other lights on around the house. He gets so excited when we turn all the Christmas lights on in the house. He runs around the house squealing and pointing to them. It is so cute! Plus, he is getting more and more interactive. He wants us to read and read and read him books and the same ones over and over again! It is great on one hand and on the other hand repetition can be an annoying thing at time. All parents know this or anyone who has spent many hours and days around children. However, it is exciting that one of Isaiah's favorite things to do is read. Marshall and I decided to tile our shower and remodel our bathroom for our Christmas present to ourselves. It is quit the task for this season. Marshall is working hard to get it done, because it is our only shower and tub in the house. Thanks to good neighbors who are letting us take showers every other day there. This is tough. He is working hard at it and doing a wonderful job.

Thanksgiving Trip Cont......

Well the next morning we got up and went to the SpaceLodge Restaurant and the waited about 10 minutes for the waitress to take our order and then she brought our drinks. Well an hour later we still did not get our food. Isaiah was a trooper and very patient. We left the restaurant and the waitress asked us the pay for our drinks. We were still hungry and wanted to leave the aweful town of Gila Bend. Marshall drove to Burger King and got us a quick breakfast and then it was on our way to Payson. The rest of the trip was fun restful and we so enjoyed being with our family. It just felt like we were never going to get there. Isaiah is catching a ball when thrown to, which is wonderful! He does such a great job! He loves playing with his balls and books. He now requests books to be read to him and certain ones over and over again. Here goes the joy of repitition! However, I am overjoyed at Isaiah's love for books and reading. Thanks for all who read and enjoy our life stories.

Thanksgiving Trip

Isaiah has been quite the traveler this week! Wow! There are many sagas! Where do I start? Isaiah threw up on the way to Arizona in the car around Dateland. We had to stop at the Exxon gas station and change his clothes, go to the bathroom, get gas, and snacks. Marshall then dropped his wedding ring down the drain while washing his hands. Luckliy he was able to fish the ring out of the drain with a piece of wire. After 30 minutes later at the Exxon station we got in the car and started off again on the road. Then 20 minutes later Isaiah threw up again and this time it was much, much worse. We pulled over and tried to clean him up a bit. Marshall and I decided to drive to Gila Bend and stay in a hotel for the night and try again to travel to Arizona again. We felt so bad for the little guy. We stayed at the Best Western Space Lodge the cleanest hotel on the strip or in town. We got there and got one of the last rooms there. We got Isaiah out of the car and gave him a bath to clean him up. Marshall then drove out to find some pedilyte and soy milk and was laughed at by many store workers in town and only was able to buy apple juice. We finally got some juice in Isaiah and got him to sleep. Well he threw up again and then he slept with us for the night. The hotel was located by the train tracks, we heard trains go by every two hours, but the air conditioning in the room drowned out the sound of the trains. This is just the tip of the ice berg. Duck, Goose and Now Horse

Wow! Tonight Isaiah said "horse". This is how it started. Auntie Ann taught Isaiah to say "goose". She started by saying goose every time he said duck. By the middle of the next day Ann was here visiting he starting saying "oose" when she said "goose". Well tonight we were playing with Isaiah's frige farm and Mama started pointing to the horsed and she would say horse and then Isaiah repeated and said "orse". I am so proud of him. Thanks Auntie Ann for the fun!

Isaiah playing ball

Isaiah loves to play with his ball. He gets so excited when he sees any ball. Of course we own many and when ever one is in site he squeals with delite. He loves when you bounce it, throw it up in the air, or put it in a container of some sort. He also loves to play with you with the ball, he will pick it up and drop it then you pick it up and drop it. He can play this game for several minutes. He loves this game and knows when it his your turn and his turn. He also like throw the ball over his head. He enjoys playing ball. He is a true boy.
